Kesner Opens New Menswear Concept Store in Southampton
On June 12, 2009 Kesner Southampton 11968 opened the doors of its 1,000 square foot men's shop on historic Jobs Lane in Southampton, New York. After the inaugural opening success of Kesner New York 10014 in Manhattan's iconic West Village this past November, it was an important next step to open a seasonal menswear store in southampton. "During the summer months, our client base is in the hamptons, which like New York is now an international destination," says Director of Operations
Thomas Trube. The concept of Kesner is straightforward. "We showcase a fresh mix of new and established designers from the us and abroad," says owner Matthew Simon. "It is also important that Kesner reflects maturity and provides well-edited, classic collections that are more accessible to today's man," adds co-owner, and brother, Philip Silverman. The shop was named Kesner in honor of their grandfather, Alfred Kesner.
Kesner will offer ready-to-wear favorites from Neil Barrett, Spurr, Veronique Branquinho, Kris Van Assche, Paul Smith, Hartford, and new sensation Burkman Bros. In addition, it will feature US exclusives including Marchand Drapier, Antonio Azzuolo, Melinda Gloss, and Loewe. Swimwear by California surf brand Sundek and
Richard James.Footwear necessities from Paul Smith and SeaVees as well as an incredible fine jewelry collection from Ten Thousand Things. In addition, accessories ranging from sunglasses by Milan-based LGR to Italian leather goods by WANT Les Essentials

Spring 2009
Kesner NYC
KESNER is a very cozy, bi-level shop usually carrying about 25 well edited designer collections each season and 10 designers, exclusive to Kesner. Thomas led me down to the lower level which looks more like an exclusive club than a place where sale items are housed. Plush chairs, velvet sofa, soft lighting AND a fully stocked bar!! Kevin Oliver Tucker: Who's bright idea was it to open another menswear store in NYC, especially now? Thomas Trube: Well the owners Philip Silverman and Matthew Simon, two half brothers, couldn't find one place to shop that fit their sense of style so they decided to open their own. -

From New York Shopping
Of the three, this has the most exciting merchandise mix, plus good atmosphere: Chaka Khan tunes in the background, velvet chairs, and a well-stocked bar on the lower level—it's hard not to feel at home in this pint-size boutique. Hypercurated like Brooklyn's Bird, Kesner is a blend of up-and-coming talent (Kris Van Assche), cult favorites (Veronique Branquinho), and new international labels like Antonio Azzuolo making their Stateside debut exclusively with the store.
